Function description

The Umbrella of Hope Foundation(TUH), an independent, non-partisan research and development organization based in The Hague with field offices in Uganda, seeks a Program Coordinator to support work on migration and development.

TUH has recently scaled up its work to develop and recommend innovative solutions and frameworks designed to assist refugees and migrants in The Netherlands, as well as work within a Theory of Change that makes a difference in the lives of migrants and refugees. The Program Coordinator’s role is to fulfil a broad array of research, community and policy outreach, and project management functions. The ideal candidate should demonstrate strong management, analytical, and communication skills; experience working on international development and migration/refugee issues is also desired.

The successful candidate will be responsible for a range of duties, including:

- Planning and coordination of Migrants and Refugees program and its activities
- Designing and implementation of migrant policies and practices
- Maintaining budget and tracking expenditures/transactions
- Organise and coordinate workflow on migration and community development
- Track migration and development news and newly published research
- Organise internal and external meetings and conferences; help with scheduling and logistics for staff
- Support project outreach team in activities related to migration program, including tracking relevant project activities.
- Assist with fundraising prospects
- Provide other research, writing, and editing support
- Support growth and program development

Qualifications and skills:
- Bachelor’s or Master´s degree in international development, Development studies, Migrants studies, economics, or another related field
- Knowledge of migration and refugee issues highly desired; prior work experience in these fields helpful though not strictly necessary
- Superb organisational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
- Comfort working independently and with little supervision. An ability to see ahead and think strategically is essential
- Excellent communication and writing skills
- Proficiency in English language, Knowledge of basic Dutch is required
- Study or work experience in a developing country a plus.
